Amor, fortuna y la memoria esquiva
del mal presente, atenta al bien pasado,
me tienen tan perdido y tan cansado
que de triste vivir la alma se priva.
Fortuna me contrasta, amor aviva
el fuego, la memoria un desusado
dolor me causa, y en tan triste estado
quieren a mi pesar los tres que viva.
Yo no espero ver más alegres días,
mal del mal en peor preso y revuelto,
me hallo en la mitad de la carrera.
Teniendo de delante las porfías,
la esperanza de vidrio se me ha vuelto,
y rompió cuando más durar debiera.
