Como está el alma a nuestra carne unida,
en los miembros las partes igualmente,
y como cada miembro el alma siente
entera en sí y en todos repartida,

y como si una parte es dividida
del cuerpo por algún inconveniente,
el alma queda entera y tan potente
cual siempre, sin que pueda ser partida,

así el amor en mí no se acrecienta
por más favor, ni cuanto más padece
el triste corazón muda el estado.

Muéstrase amor en mí como tormenta
de mar, que cuando más con furia crece,
su término, no pasa limitado.
