En medio de mi mal vino cubierto
un tan hermoso bien, tan dulce engaño,
que el alma enamorada de su daño
fue luego con el seso de concierto.
A tiempo vi el peligro descubierto,
que pudiera valerme del engaño
si consintiera Amor que en bien tamaño
tuviera la razón discurso cierto.
Si pudiera apartar del pensamiento
un temor peligroso, oscuro y triste,
¿con quién trocara yo mi buena suerte?
Mas no quiere el vencido sentimiento,
porque el alma que tal hábito viste,
no lo puede dejar salvo por muerte.
