¿En cuál región, en cuál parte del suelo,
en cuál bosque, en cuál monte, en cuál poblado,
en cuál lugar remoto y apartado
puede ya mi dolor hallar consuelo?

Cuanto se puede ver debajo el cielo
todo lo tengo visto y rodeado,
y un medio que a mi mal había hallado
hace en parte mayor mi desconsuelo.

Para curar el daño de la ausencia
píntoos cual siempre os vi, dura y proterva,
mas Amor os me muestra de otra suerte.

No queráis a mi mal más experiencia,
sino que ya, como herida cierva,
doquier que voy, conmigo va mi muerte.
