Llorando vivo y si en el fiero pecho
de la enemiga mía pudiese el llanto
cuanto pudo en su tiempo el dulce canto,
seríame el llorar honra y provecho.
Mas quien me tiene ya casi deshecho,
de mi bien o mi mal no cura tanto,
y así conviene a mi pesar que cuanto
fue el bien, sea ahora el mal de que sospecho.
Y porque en mi llorar más dolor halle,
quiso ordenar Amor, que era enemigo,
que lo que más querría decir, más calle.
Ved cuál estoy, qué extremo es el que sigo:
que llorando mi mal, para contalle,
la causa callo y los efectos digo.
