No hallo ya en el mal inconveniente,
ni en el bien, si lo alcanzo, me detengo;
el tiempo en que no os veo, aunque es muy luengo,
con el alma os estoy siempre presente.
Con tal orden templáis un accidente,
que en el mayor favor, si alguno tengo,
cuando en el disfavor a pensar vengo,
paso por él así livianamente.
Y el placer, el pesar, el riso, el llanto,
gozar y padecer, daño y provecho
igualmente por vos me satisface.
Sola una novedad me causa espanto:
teniendo de contrarios lleno el pecho,
¿cómo la división no lo deshace?
