¿Cuál fiera tempestad, cuál accidente
mi tan sereno mar ha vuelto airado?
¿Qué es del fuego, señora, en que abrasado
fue vuestro corazón tan dulcemente?

Si en el perpetuo olvido amor consiente
que así se haya deshecho y apagado,
¿qué fue, si no fue amor, mi bien pasado?
Y si fue amor, ¿qué es de él, do está presente?

Ya que justa ocasión de mí os partiese,
¿cómo puede hora ser que en solo un hora
tanto amor, si era amor, de vos se fuese?

Sombra de amores fue, no amor, señora:
mostrásteme la luz por que sintiese
mayor oscuridad sin ella agora.
