Como garza real alta en el cielo,
entre halcones puesta y rodeada,
que siendo de los unos remontada,
de los otros seguirse deja a vuelo,

viendo su muerte acá bajo en el suelo,
por oculta virtud manifestada,
no tan presto será del aquejada
que a voces mostrará su desconsuelo.

Las pasadas locuras, los ardores
que por otras sentí, fueron, señora,
para me levantar, remontadores;

pero viéndoos a vos, mi matadora,
el alma dio señal en sus temores
de la muerte que paso cada hora.
