Tras lo que temo más voy rastreando
sin que espere hallar lo que quería,
y es de tal calidad la pena mía
que lo que huye más, anda buscando.

Se me va la verdad manifestando;
yo, por no la topar, busco otra vía;
si entendiese su mal mi fantasía
tendría por mejor vivir dudando.

Ha dado fe el temor a una sospecha
que no puede parar sino en mi daño,
y seguiréla hasta ver do para.

Querríala volver, más ¿qué aprovecha?
que aunque sea en su favor el desengaño,
sola la duda ya le cuesta cara.
