Sigue a la oscura noche el claro día,
y aquella oscuridad que el aire hace,
el sol la aclara toda y la deshace,
y la sombra y temor de sí desvía.
Así de mi verdad, señora mía,
el sol que alguna vez mirar os place,
aclara, justifica y satisface
la oscuridad que mala lengua envía.
Desterrad, pues, por Dios, aquella sombra
que el aire os ocupó claro y sereno,
para que el sol de la verdad se vea.
Y entonces, si de mí cosa os asombra,
veréis de un tal amor mi pecho lleno,
tan claro que no hay sol que más lo sea.
