Mientra el franco furor fiero se muestra
en uno con el bárbaro tremiendo,
mientra el consorcio protestante, horrendo,
turbar piensa la fe y la patria nuestra,

Marte os arma, señor, la mano diestra,
a la cual la victoria está atendiendo,
a aquel vestigio de valor siguiendo
que a la inmortalidad virtud adiestra.

Ya me parece ver de vuestra gloria
el alto resplandor ilustrar tanto
que al paterno poder hará la vista.

Sólo tengo temor que tanta historia
puesta no quedará en eterno canto
si vos de vos no sois el coronista.
