Quien tiene tan honrado pensamiento,
Lavinio, como yo, no es tan ligero
mudar de voluntad sin que primero
pierda con el vivir todo el contento.
No fue el primero ardor el que ahora siento,
mas sé yo bien al fin será el postrero;
éste fue el muy sabroso, éste más fiero,
de este fue el bien igual con el tormento.
Si me quejo, pastor, de mi pastora,
si digo que es cruel, que es una ingrata,
a ti, que de mi ardor sabes la historia,
es la contemplación que me maltrata,
que ora el bien, ora el mal pasado llora,
según amor lo trae a la memoria.
