Dulce enemiga mía, hermosa fiera,
si las obras de Amor mirar queremos,
iguales con el sol las hallaremos
una regla guardar y una manera.
Cerca la tierra el sol dentro y de fuera,
y la cera derrite como vemos.
¿De dónde vienen, pues, tales extremos?
¿Los rayos no son todos de una esfera?
Amor os hiela a vos y a mí me enciende,
en mí acrecienta ardor y en vos desvío,
yo soy un fuego ya, vos toda un hielo.
¿Pues cómo puede ser? ¿Hay quién lo entiende?
Si procede de Amor el ardor mío,
¿el hielo vuestro es permisión del cielo?
