mi estilo en alabaros extremara,

Y aquella Laura cuyo nombre suena
del toscano poeta en voz tan clara
en le nombre tan sólo os igualara,
mas mi bajo decir lo desordena.

Así, de no emprender obra tan alta
tengo justa disculpa, pues excede
tan claro la materia toda historia;

pero en vuestros loores esta falta,
de poderse igualar, hace que quede
para siempre de vos digna memoria.
