Señor, en quien nos vive y ha quedado
el gran nombre del Vasto y, su memoria,
después que de esta breve y transitoria
a al vida inmortal mudó su estado,

donde desprecia nuestro bajo grado
y goza para siempre inmensa gloria,
quedando en todo verso, en toda historia,
del mundo eternamente celebrado;

mirad cuán ancha y espaciosa vía
os muestran sus hazañas inmortales
de haceros inmortal entre la gente,

y seguid su valor, que con tal guía
los más famosos no os serán iguales
del siglo ya pasado o del presente.
