De Amor se hace, y por él mismo es hecha
la red de amor que tanta gente prende,
y como la refuerza el que la tiende,
no está ni puede estar rota o deshecha.

Hermosura es el arco que Amor flecha;
del cual ninguna fuerza se defiende,
y el gusto humano es quien le da y le vende
de diversos metales tanta flecha.

Nace niño, y por horas crece y viene
a ser más que gigante y, siendo ciego,
vuélvese en Argos al tomar la mira

y un monstruo tan extraño, que, aunque tiene
en una mano el arco, en otra el fuego,
con mil tiende la red y con mil tira.
