Con la razón en su verdad envuelta
combate de atrevido mi querer,
armado de esperanza, y sin temer
que Amor le engañe o pueda dar la vuelta.
Acomete animoso a rienda suelta,
mi razón, débil contra tal poder,
resiste, mas en fin viene a perder,
y a parar en mi daño esta revuelta.
Que entonces sin sospecha, este cruel
de mí triunfa y sin temor se extiende,
viendo tan suya toda parte mía;
mas no me acaba, porque está con él
memoria de un gran bien, y me defiende
quien otras mil partes me ofendía.
