Viendo su bien tan lejos mi deseo,
alejóseme tanto por seguirle,
que tuve por difícil reducirle
al derecho camino sin rodeo.
Y ahora tan mal me tiene, que me veo
sin fuerza con que pueda resistirle,
tan forzado me tiene a consentirle,
que soy el que de mí menos poseo.
Ninguna novedad hay que me aparte
de tal congoja, ni que yo la crea,
sino para mayor inconveniente;
pues siendo yo de mí la menor parte,
por fuerza hace Amor que el todo sea,
sólo para sentir lo que él consiente.
