En medio del placer que el pensamiento
me causa con mostrárseme presente,
Amor, que por ser bien no lo consiente,
le vuelve por usanza al mal que siento.

Yo al gusto del primer contentamiento
le esfuerzo para el bien do me contente,
mas no me vale, que absolutamente
Amor en sólo el mal le tiene atento.

Y aunque Amor todo su poder me diese,
no vale contra el vuestro, en siendo mío,
ni quiero yo que valga, aunque pudiese.

Mi bien y mal podéis, de vos lo fío:
bástame el mal, si yo lo mereciese,
que pensar en el bien es desvarío.
