Un novillo feroz y un fuerte toro
lidian delante su becerra amada,
y mirábalos Silvia descuidada,
de gracia y de beldad rico tesoro,

cuando por la ribera un sacro coro
de ninfas ve venir, y en su llegada
fue de ellas mi pastora coronada
de flores, que eran perlas sobre el oro.

Y como el fuerte vencedor furioso
dio alegre fin a la obstinada empresa,
zampoña no quedó que no tocase,

diciendo: «¡Oh bien nacido y venturoso
Silvano, si tu llanto, que no cesa,
con fin tan venturoso se acabase».
