Si los suspiros que ha esparcido el viento,
ausente de mi bien, con mil dolores,
y con ellos mis quejas y clamores
en bajo, triste y doloroso acento;

si la flaca esperanza cual la siento,
puesta en el medio de cien mil temores,
vinieren a noticia de pastores
do llegue el amoroso sentimiento,

sujeto les será mi triste llanto
por Galatea, y mi pasión tamaña
y, en ausencia, mi fe tan verdadera

pasar continuo y doloroso canto
por todos estos llanos y campaña
del famoso Danubio y su ribera.
