Del bien del pensamiento se sustenta
el triste corazón entre mil males
que en mí se tratan como naturales,
y el alma hace ya la misma cuenta.

El no sufrirlos tiene por afrenta,
y por honra y valor sufrirlos tales,
y págase, sintiéndolos mortales,
con sólo consentirle que los sienta.

Esto por bien muy grande se le niega,
y la vida ha tomado por partido
seguir en padecer su estilo usado,

que llegando al extremo donde llega,
lo que con desearlo nunca ha sido,
no puede por razón serle negado.
