La red de amor es invisible y hecha
de suerte que, sin verse, enlaza y prende,
y de valerle tanto al que la tiende
procede el nunca estar rota o deshecha.

Deleite forja el arco que Amor flecha,
del cual nuestro valor mal se defiende,
y el flaco natural le da y le vende,
para daño del mundo, tanta flecha.

Amor es fuerza indómita, aunque viene
en figura de niño, y aunque es ciego,
sola su voluntad es punta y mira;

y así, pudiendo cuanto quiere, tiene
en una mano el arco, en otra el fuego,
cuando tiende la red y cuando tira.
