Como aquél que a la muerte está presente
de su señor, a quien ponzoña ha dado,
y, ya que remediarle es excusado,
procúralo y del hecho se arrepiente;
así mi voluntad, ahora que siente
no poder ya mi mal ser remediado,
muestra dolerse de lo que ha causado,
y el remedio procura vanamente.
Bien simple y vanamente lo procura,
que, aunque en algo pudiera aprovecharse,
Amor, que puede, lo contradiría.
Aquí pondría sus fuerzas la ventura
y, viendo que el efecto era dañarme,
mi señora también se esforzaría.
