Ajeno fue, pues fue sólo un momento,
y mil años el mal sin acabarse;
instable fue, pues vino a comenzarse
de nuevo el mal tras su contentamiento.
Para más daño fue, pues su cimiento
tan sin firmeza en mí pudo fundarse;
que grave fue mi bien, pues en mostrarse
al parecer fue bien y al ser tormento.
Bien pudieras, Amor, con tantos males
acabarme de un golpe, pues podías
con uno y el menor de los que pruebo,
sin juntar con mis penas, siendo tales,
el bien que tuve por tan breves días,
para nuevo dolor y caso nuevo.
