Sin temer el camino voy contando
los pasos por do a muerte voy derecho
y, con quien trabaja en su provecho,
me voy de paso en paso apresurando.

Vos, señora, y Amor vais estorbando
lo que procuro y, por mayor despecho,
mostráisme este descanso a poco trecho
y tenéisme suspenso, dilatando.

Pero si bien tamaño no merece
como acabar por vos la triste vida,
al menos esforzad el sufrimiento,

o consentí el remedio que se ofrece,
o moderad congoja tan crecida,
o mandad que no sienta el sentimiento.
