- XLIX - Soneto a una dama

Obrando claramente la natura
perfección, que parece más que humana,
en vos sola ha mostrado, señora Ana,
que del bien general poco se cura;

pues hizo que de gracia y hermosura
viváis vos sola justamente ufana,
y viéndoos, claro está que es cosa vana
esperar de ver otra tal pintura.

También sería yo vano en alabaros,
si en la vuestra hermosura hubiera parte
que pensase con vos en igualarla;

pero sólo diré que en el formaros
dejó natura tan vencida el arte,
que vos sola podéis menospreciarla.
