Puede en amor la discreción obrarse
cuando se siente amor tibio o ligero,
que no teme peligro el verdadero
ni puede con razones desviarse.

Es allegarse más el apartarse,
y el duro corazón más fuerte y fiero
viene a encenderse más que de primero
con lo que más espera remediarse.

Por donde, en este mal tan congojoso,
sufrir es el más sano regimiento,
pues otro que aproveche no se halla;

y el que en buscar remedio es presuroso
sé que vendrá a sentir lo que yo siento,
que la salud más cierta es no buscalla.
