Venciste, Filis. Ya en el pecho mío
hoy la primer terneza se introduce,
y cual hielo en que el sol infante luce
lloro, mas con valor rebelde y frío.

Mengua mi obstinación, no mi albedrío;
que este afecto a que el hado me reduce,
no como ley, cual gusto se produce,
y, si le doy lugar, no señorío.

Impere la razón, y mis afetos
sólo al fuero se extiendan de vasallos,
en mi interior, ya amante monarquía.

Que si contra las leyes de sujetos
se conjurase amor a rebelallos,
trocaré yo el imperio en tiranía.
