Jacinta, aquel artífice violento,
negando el agua misma que derrama,
a la engañada sed dio tanta llama
que esconde en el cristal otro elemento.

No se querella el labio del tormento
de ver, que le despide quien le llama;
pues de más noble cólera le inflama
ver que costase estudio lo avariento.

Naciste liberal, y avara cuna,
oh corriente infeliz, se atreve a darte
el que malquista tu corriente el labio.

Hasta en los elementos hay fortuna.
Quéjese el agua, pues, aquí del arte,
si nació beneficio y muere agravio.
