Culpa, Celia, tu error y no tu daño;
única te formó naturaleza.
Pues dime, ¿por qué quiere tu belleza
darte segunda con tan nuevo engaño?
No se rompió el espejo, no, y extraño
que eche menos tu vista su entereza;
cristal era no más; agora empieza
a ser espejo desde el desengaño.
Tu retrato en retratos dividido
en una parte muere, en otra alcanza
a merecerte en más copioso empleo.
Aquí queda mi error más advertido,
pues cuando hieres más a mi esperanza
hidra inmortal renace mi deseo.
