Bárbaro el Fénix a su fin aplica
incendios, por nacer de su occidente;
que fiar de un ocaso un nuevo oriente,
noble acción, pero bárbara, se explica.

Mas Fabia, sol de España, se dedica
hoy a tu llanto senador prudente,
y fénix más perpetua y más luciente
en tu dolor sus plumas sacrifica.

¡Oh bárbara otra vez, bien que ingeniosa,
ave oriental, que de tu fin y ofensa
fías la eternidad que solemnizas!

¡Oh Fabia, fénix tú, sabia y hermosa,
que a tu origen paterno, en llama densa,
fías la eternidad de tus cenizas!
