Dio el agua procurada sepultura
-ya no es fábula huésped- a Narciso.
El que imitar su clara muerte quiso,
el valor poseyó por hermosura.

Venturoso murió, pues le procura
reducir un empleo y un aviso;
pero quien llega al término preciso
puede ser desdichado con ventura.

Sufrió el cielo de dos el ardimiento,
o porque de ignorancia procedía,
o para refrenar tercero intento.

No murió don Antonio, que ya había
muerto cuando malogra un escarmiento.
Pues, ¿qué murió en las aguas? Su osadía.
