Vos, que ajeno del mal en que rendido
fuiste del duro Amor, alzáis la frente,
y libre ya de su dolor presente,
Señor, vivís alegre y no ofendido,

no penséis que del todo sacudido
habéis el yugo a la cerviz doliente,
ni estéis ufano; porque el fuego ardiente
en la muerta ceniza está escondido;

que no tal vez la lumbre de esperanza
descubrirá camino, cuando luego
volveréis, como yo, al error pasado;

mas si vuestro valor tal suerte alcanza,
que no deis mas lugar al furor ciego,
seréis de mí más que varón llamado.
