Corta alegría, inútil vanagloria,
deseos en ingrato afán perdidos,
suspiros tarde en mi dolor crecidos,
despojos que aborrezco, de impía historia,

Para amargo temor de la memoria
vos halláis en mi daño reducidos;
mas, después de mis males pretendidos,
mal podéis pretender mayor victoria.

Conozco al fin y siento bien mi engaño,
que el dardo que en mi pecho temblar veo
mostró fiera experiencia de mi afrenta.

Dejadme, pues huís, mi desengaño;
que ni vuestra promesa ya deseo,
ni el bien de vuestra pena me contenta.
