- CXLVIII - Rosas insensibles

Rosas de nieve y púrpura vestidas;
coral rojo en marfil resplandeciente;
estrellas que ilustráis la pura frente;
en oro fino hebras esparcidas;

pues mi dolor y penas encendidas
el duro pecho vuestro no consiente,
o sois de humana suerte diferente,
o estáis en blanca piedra convertidas.

Y aunque ensalzado está en divina alteza,
premio de vuestra eterna hermosura,
por vos está obligado a más terneza.

Si no seréis de Cypro la figura,
que en la perdida muestra de belleza
encubría la piedra ingrata y dura.
