Serena Luz, de quien presenta espira
divino Amor, que enciende y junto enfrena
el noble pecho, que, en mortal cadena
al alto Olimpo levantarse aspira;

ricos cercos dorados, do se mira
tesoro celestial de eterna vena,
armonía de angélica sirena,
que entre las perlas y el coral respira,

¿cuál nueva maravilla, cuál ejemplo
de la inmortal grandeza nos descubre
aquesa sombra del hermoso velo?

Que yo en esa belleza que contemplo,
aunque a mi flaca vista ofende y cubre,
la inmensa busco y voy siguiendo al cielo.
