Si nunca, del umbroso y cavo seno
saliendo con tu Flora mano a mano,
Céfiro, viste en monte, en prado, en llano,
gozar el campo de tu nombre lleno;

desecha ya, por Dios, del mar Tirreno
-si tus orejas hiere el son humano-
un movimiento crudo y tan insano
que el Noto levantó por caso ajeno;

hincha las blancas velas, con las ondas
menos hinchadas ya, del favorable
y dulce soplo do mi bien consiste.

Razón es, Santo Dios, que al fin respondas,
pues mi plegaria, justa y miserable,
contiene la razón que en ella viste.
