Así las ninfas del Sebeto ameno,
que envidia el Arno de su bien privado,
alma real, que al más dichoso estado
tienes de gozo y maravilla lleno,

en algún verde, umbroso y fértil seno
de flores te coronen, tal que el prado
y el monte, entre las nubes levantado,
tu nombren vean y al cielo más sereno.

Que escuches, nueva aurora, el nuevo intento
de mi zampoña rústica y subida
do no consiente y llega su destino...

y me de tu valor tan alto aliento
que la beldad, al siglo tan crecida,
vaya por mi volando al polo austrino.
