De la pena de Sísifo se cuenta
que sube un grave peso a una montaña
áspera, inhabitable, obscura, extraña,
do cuanto puede ver, más le atormenta.
Subido a la alta cima, antes que sienta
descanso alguno, el desear le engaña,
y soltando la carga que le daña,
de nuevo torna a la pasada afrenta.
Así, sube, señora, el alma mía
por ásperos caminos desusados
a la cumbre de la alta fantasía.
Mas no son unos males acabados,
cuando la obstinación de mi porfía
sigue los que le están aparejados.
