El tiempo es tal que cualquier fiera agora
ama su igual y por él llora o canta;
muestra el ciervo en bramar fiereza tanta,
mas a la cierva es dulce y la enamora;
la ronca voz del cuervo de hora en hora
cualquier dureza de su par quebranta;
y el triste ruiseñor su amiga espanta,
por lo cual se lamenta, aflige y llora.
Si yo me quejo, la razón me sobra,
pues ni tener respeto al ser constante
vale, ni tanto amar a ser amado.
Amor lo hace, y muestra bien ser obra
suya hacer que valga un ignorante
dichoso más que un cuerdo desdichado.
