Contento con el mal de Amor vivía,
habiendo el alma en él hábito hecho;
su daño principal ni su provecho
no me alteraba ya, ni lo sentía.
Hora ha querido la desdicha mía
con otro nuevo mal herirme el pecho;
éste me desbarata y me ha deshecho,
mientra menos del otro me temía.
Como enfermo que está ya confiado
que no puede morir de un mal que tiene,
por haberse en el uso así guardado,
cualquier nuevo accidente que le viene,
diferente de aquel que había pensado,
le hace recelar más que conviene.
