De las doce a las cuatro había pasado,
por la quinta carrera el sol corría,
sin que del resplandor que dar solía
muestra de su beldad, luz haya dado.
O escondido o transpuesto o de un nublado
negro, lleno de horror, se le cubría
al mísero Vandalio, el cual no vía
sin él por do seguir con su ganado.
Llenos de un triste humor tenía los ojos
el cuitado pastor mirando el cielo,
mostrando sin hablar su desventura.
Cuando, por renovar viejos enojos,
quitándose y poniendo el sol un velo,
mostró y tornó a esconder su hermosura.
