Un nuevo sol vi yo en humano gesto
que en la tierra nos muestra un paraíso;
una boca vi yo que sólo un riso
en perpetuo llorar me tiene puesto;
de dos ojos salió un mirar honesto
que el ánimo del alma trae diviso;
de entre perlas salió encubierto aviso
que me hace el vivir menos molesto.
No supe a quien quejarme del engaño,
que el Amor era ya desapartido
cuando caí en la cuenta de mi daño.
Pedí socorro al alma y el sentido
me respondió por ella, ¡ay, caso extraño!:
«¿no ves que la razón la haya rendido?»
