Aquella luz que de la gloria vuestra,
invicto Alfonso, tanto resplandece,
mientra de otros errores oscurece
la fama, más que el sol clara se muestra.

Animoso valor la mano diestra
os rige (antes a ella se engrandece),
y aquello que entre nos valor parece,
es hechura de vos, no cosa nuestra.

Si así, como es razón, escrita en suma
vuestra tanta virtud ver os agrada,
y que escritor no usurpe vuestra gloria,

a imitación de Cesar, con la pluma,
mientras que reposar dejáis la espada,
haced eterna vos vuestra memoria.
