Como la simplecilla mariposa
a torno de la luz de una candela
de pura enamorada se desvela,
ni se sabe partir, ni llegar osa;

vase, vuelve, anda, torna y no reposa,
y de amor y temor junto arde y hiela,
tanto que al fin las alas con que vuela
se abrasan con la vida trabajosa.

Así, mísero yo, de enamorado,
a torno de la luz de vuestros ojos
vengo, voy, torno y vuelvo y no me alejo;

mas es tan diferente mi cuidado
que en medio del dolor de mis enojos
ni me acaba el ardor, ni de arder dejo.
