Horas alegres que pasáis volando
porque a vueltas del bien mayor mal sienta;
sabrosa noche que en tal dulce afrenta
el triste despedir me vas mostrando;

importuno reloj, que apresurando
tu curso, mi dolor me representa;
estrellas con quien nunca tuve cuenta,
que mi partida vais acelerando;

gallo que mi pesar has denunciado;
lucero que mi luz va obscureciendo;
y tú, mal sosegada y moza aurora;

si en vos cabe dolor de mi cuidado,
id poco a poco el paso deteniendo,
si no puede ser más, siquiera un hora.
