De oliva y verde yedra coronado,
cuando el rayo de sol es más caliente,
vueltos los ojos a una clara fuente,
y al pie de un alto pino recostado,

sin acuerdo de sí ni del ganado,
que de pacer dejaba al son que siente,
así soltó la voz suavemente
de amores un pastor apasionado:

«Las ondas cesarán del mar profundo,
por latas cumbres subirán los ríos,
sin hoja verde nos vendrá el verano

y oscuro hará el sol antes el mundo
que, aunque refuerce Amor los males míos,
a Silvia deje de adorar Silvano».
